Harry Jerome (1940–1982) also known as Mr. Canada held many achievements in the Olympics in the 1960’s. He received the world record in several different track events and continued to receive his Master’s degree in Physical Education in his post-athletic career. After Harry’s athletic career he was invited by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau to help create Canada’s new Ministry of Sport. He held many senior positions in the Ministry. He also headed the Premier’s Sports award during the 1980’s in British Columbia.
