Measha Brueggergosman (born in 1977) grew up singing in the choir of her local church in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Brueggergosman pursued her musical interests with both vocal and piano lessons. She attended the University of Toronto, where she earned a Bachelor of Music and continued to Düsseldorf, Germany, where she earned a Master of Music from Robert Schumann Hochschule in 1990.

Measha obtained the lead role in Beatrice Chancy (1998) an opera about an enslaved African-Canadian woman in 19th-century Nova Scotia. Her powerful performances have earned her much international recognition. From the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra, to the Cincinnati Opera, her voice and interpretation have amazed listeners.

Her 2005 performance in Songs of Innocence and Experience by William Bolcom earned 3 Grammy Awards and Best Classical Album. She has two Juno nominations, winning in 2008 for Classical Album of the Year.
