Welcome to the Peer Mentor Program: Media and Youth Website

Empower Yourself!

The information and resources on these pages will give you tools to educate yourself about the media and the role it plays in your life. You will find information that will help you critically confront the stereotypes, sexism, violence, racism and discrimination that inhabits as much as 75% of the media we see every day.

This site will explore the links between the media, youth relationships and sexual/relationship violence.

This site has been put together using the ideas, suggestions and input of Halton youth - it has been made for you, by you!

We continue to welcome input, ideas and resources from youth across the web. Please email us if you are interested in becoming a site moderator (and earn volunteer hours at the same time!)

You will also find some helpful information if you are dealing with relationship violence, or if you are a friend of someone who is involved in a violent relationship. If you need immediate assistance please contact 905.875.1555, or to talk to a counsellor email us or phone 905.825.3622.
