No Names, No Judgement, Just Support

We provide free, confidential, and non-judgmental 24 hour support to all survivors of violence including female-identified, male-identified, and members of the transgender community.  We advocate against violence in the community at large and promote prevention through community education.

UPDATE:

September 1, 2020, SAVIS of Halton will resume In-house counselling sessions. We will adhere to the Halton Region Public Health guidelines in alignment with the Ontario’s Government Framework.

Services

Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services (SAVIS of Halton) offers free and confidential 24/7, one-on-one crisis counselling services, with no judgment, just support. Services can be short- or long-term in nature and are open to female-identified, male-identified and transgender people aged 12 and over who are survivors of violence, including childhood sexual abuse. SAVIS does not discriminate when it comes to race, colour, disability, age or national origin.

24/7 Support

SAVIS provides 24/7 support through our support and crisis line, offering free, confidential and non-judgmental assistance to survivors of sexual assault and violence.

Counselling

SAVIS provides free and confidential one-on-one, online and telephone counselling from a feminist perspective. We understand that women experience oppression in varying configurations and intensity depending on their individual backgrounds and this may have an additional impact on those already facing sexual abuse.

Public Education

SAVIS offers different public education workshops to schools, community members, and agencies in Halton. As part of our commitment to education, there is no cost associated with this service for schools and other not-for-profit community members.

Special Programs

Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Services of Halton (SAVIS) responds to more than 600 crisis calls a year, supporting 220 clients in our counselling program. 

Support Groups & Counselling
SAVIS supports over 220 clients in our support group & counselling program.

Senior Program
This program focuses on elder abuse, social isolation, inter-familial violence and inter-generational conflict

Anti-Human Trafficking Support Services
A program dedicated to supporting survivors of Human Trafficking.

Male Ally Network
This program will engage male-identified clients to challenge the narrow definitions of masculinity

Public Education
SAVIS offers various workshops & presentation topics to schools,  community, businesses & agencies.

Volunteer
Dedicated volunteers are essential to many of the programs that SAVIS operates.
