The month of November is the “Woman Abuse Prevention Month” in Ontario. The Timmins and Area Violence Against Women Tri-Agency Collaboration has created a video as part of an innovative public education and awareness campaign. The short video created by the “Take a Stand” Committee is targeting men who would like to become allies in eliminating violence against women. This is done by encouraging men and boys to take a stance against violence.
The goal of this campaign is to engage men in recognizing that they play a key role in eliminating violence against women. The focus of this year’s campaign targets the sexist attitudes and behaviours that women experience on a daily basis.
