Halton’s 27th Annual Take Back the Night
SAVIS of Halton, in partnership with the members of the Take Back the Night Committee, invites you to attend Halton’s 27th annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) march. This important community event will be held on September 14th, 2017 at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn Street in downtown Oakville and will run from 6:00 — 8:30 pm.
Halton’s TBTN provides a space to challenge the culture of violence and create a safer community by empowering women and educating male allies.
The first half-hour of the event is dedicated to networking and viewing community information booths, which will be followed by empowering keynote addresses from Halton survivors of sexual violence, as well as musical and spoken word performances. There will be a peaceful anti-violence march for women, children, and trans people through the streets of Oakville, and a male ally solidarity event chaired by the Male Ally Network (M.A.N.)
We invite all of Halton’s residents to attend TBTN and to say “NO” to violence in our community!
