Halton’s 23rd Annual Take Back the Night

SAVIS of Halton, in partnership with the members of the Take Back the Night Committee, invites you to attend Halton’s 23rd annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) march. This important community event will be held on September 18th, 2013 at the L.G. Branch Auditorium at the Mainway Arena— 4015 Mainway, Burlington and will run from 6:00 — 8:30 pm.

TBTN Flyer 2013 FINALHalton’s TBTN provides a space to challenge the culture of violence and create a safer community by empowering women and educating male allies.

The first half-hour of the event is dedicated to networking and viewing community information booths, which will be followed by empowering keynote addresses from Halton survivors of sexual violence, as well as performances by the barbershop quartet “Lavish”, the Naked Beat Drum Circle and spoken word artist Shannon Kitchings. There will be a peaceful anti-violence march for women, children, and trans people through the streets of Burlington, and a male ally solidarity event chaired by the Male Ally Network (M.A.N.)
