System Navigation and Outreach Program
The System Navigation and Outreach Program provides trauma-informed, survivor-centred support to individuals 16+ who have experienced sexual violence or other forms of gender-based violence. The program offers direct support, system navigation, and community outreach to help survivors access services that promote safety and healing. We also build strong relationships with community partners to improve coordinated responses to sexual violence.
The program includes:
- Conducting outreach to community partners and the broader public to increase awareness of sexual violence, available support, and referral pathways
- Participating in community fairs, public events, and other outreach opportunities through information tables and resource sharing
- Developing and strengthening referral relationships with community agencies, institutions, and service providers
- Helping survivors navigate systems and access services, including:
· Legal services, such as police, courts, legal aid, and victim services
· Health care, housing, income support, immigration services, and other community resources
- Coordinating referrals and warm handoffs to internal and external services
- Accompanying survivors to court, police stations, hospitals, or other services, as appropriate
- Advocating alongside survivors to reduce barriers and support informed decision-making
- Helping survivors access the Quick Access Single-Session Counselling Program
