Respecting Trans Inmates

The province of Ontario is instituting new admission and placement policies for trans inmates in provincial correctional facilities. This is to ensure that their rights are recognized and protected.

This policy is believed to be one of the most progressive policies in North America that addresses the treatment of trans people in the care and custody of provincial correctional facilities.
