Welcome Vinitha!

Vinitha Nair is SAVIS’ the new Seniors Program Coordinator. She is responsible for our ongoing work to end Elder Abuse against seniors in the Halton Region. Vinitha is busy scheduling and delivering our free Senior Circle presentations. She has 2 Master’s Degrees, one in Criminology (University of Madras, India) and one in Criminal Justice (Rutgers University, New Jersey).  Vinitha is a faculty member at Sheridan College, Davis campus.  Vinitha teaches Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, and Community & Social Services.  Vinitha is enjoying her role as an ambassador for seniors’ issues.  So far, Vinitha has conducted Circles for seniors in a mosque in Milton (Urdu-speaking group), a church in Burlington, and a community centre in Oakville (Mandarin-speaking group).  She describes her role as “very gratifying”, knowing that seniors appreciate the knowledge and support we are offering through our Senior Circle and Elder abuse presentations.
